Natalie Raimondi is a senior product designer at Meta who has spent a decade making things that are useful and beloved for remarkably different reasons. They all have one thing in common: they help people make a decision they were already trying to make.

Maybe you were cleaning out your garage and selling your old junk to fund a new purchase. When you were locked inside during COVID, you wanted to know how the virus was spreading in your own community. Perhaps you wanted a trustworthy news source that also offered some of the best games and recipes on the internet to take the edge off.
Or, if you’re a European car enthusiast, you wanted to build your dream BMW before having to deal with the car dealership guy. She helped with all of that. To be fair, she cannot drive and does not have a license.

This did not stop her from earning a Webby honoree for the car thing. Her work has been honored by the Webby Awards and the Pulitzer Prize, and covered by TechCrunch, Nasdaq, The New York Times, Business Insider, and  WWD.

NYT Parenting

The New York Times Parenting Beta sought to solve multiple, complex problems:

  • Other parenting resources primarily focus on child needs and often ignore the needs of the parent. Parenting isn’t just about child-rearing, it’s also about a transformation in relationships, bodies and identity

  • Finding answers can be overwhelming. There are lots of parenting resources on the internet, but many are unreliable, contradictory or judgmental. It’s hard to know who to trust.

  • The learning curve can be steep. Especially with first-time parents, there’s a lot to learn and it can be difficult to know where to start.

Using the authority, and fact-based journalism the company was known for, the product was designed to offer evidence-based guidance in an accessible, synthesized and time-saving way. Designed for the adults that use it, you will see absolutely no corny stock photos or infantile color palettes. The architecture of the site was designed based on user research to follow predictable, time-based age milestone cadences that parents were familiar with. Read about the launch on WWD.

At night, Natalie is a painter who has shown her work in Los Angeles and Brussels, with New York coming up. Despite the swampy bog of living at the intersection of art and technology, she recently realized that shipping diffs with Claude is so much like painting that it has changed how she sees her day job: make a mark, look at it, respond to it.

Her third job is her two-year-old Scottish Terrier, Dante. Yes, after the writer.

Divine Comedy is her favorite book because, after all:

A sin is just love poured in the wrong direction.

Let’s work together.
